Anxiety Bowls

Stacked colorful ceramic bowls with various patterns and colors, arranged against a plain background.

Centering clay requires my full attention — it asks me to slow down, breathe, and be present with something physical and real.

I can’t scream at the world when I’m centering clay.

Many of the bowls I make during these sessions became what I call Anxiety Bowls — pieces shaped during moments when I needed to regulate, ground myself, and move through whatever felt loud or overwhelming. Making them gives my hands something steady to do while my nervous system catches up. It’s a small, quiet practice of returning to myself.

Each Anxiety Bowl is wheel-thrown in my home studio and completely one of a kind, with natural variation in form, color, and texture. They’re meant to be held, used, and lived with — a place to rest small objects, intentions, or simply your hands.

With every Anxiety Bowl sold, a portion of the proceeds is donated to mental health support. This matters deeply to me, because these bowls come from a place of presence, regulation, and learning how to stay steady — and I want them to support that work beyond my own studio.

Thank you for supporting handmade work, slow making, and mental health.
