My Story

I’m Ligaya — ceramic artist, single mom, and Bay Area transplant working from a backyard studio in Portland, Oregon.

Three years ago, I moved here and bought a house with a tiny detached woodworking shop. I turned it into a pottery studio almost immediately. I don’t really do hobbies halfway.

For the past two years, I’ve shown up to the wheel almost every day. Centering clay requires both hands and full attention.

I can’t scream at the world when I’m centering clay.

What started as curiosity became a practice. What started as practice became something steady.

I’ve documented much of the process online — glaze tests, cracked rims, small wins, messy shelves and all. I love that people have watched me learn in real time.

For now, I’m here in my backyard studio, building something grounded and one of a kind.
